 View West - Modern Contemporary Architecture: 1-Front View A small house architectural concept sited on a 50 foot x 50 foot lot in Victoria. This modern, uncomplicated design incorporates 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and an open living space. top  View West - Modern Contemporary Architecture: 2-Side View The building's west wall is a 24 foot high window allowing afternoon light to flood the house. There are very few window openings anywhere else in the house, allowing this window to be a prominent feature inside and out. top  View West - Modern Contemporary Architecture: 3-Roof Deck The roof top is an important part of this design as it provides some private outdoor space for family gatherings, sun tanning and soothing moon lit baths. top  View West - Modern Contemporary Architecture: 4-Stair Feature The stair feature is not only the way to transition between layers, but is also the zone where the interior and exterior space transitions. top  View West - Modern Contemporary Architecture: 5-Living Spaces All the living spaces are open on the main floor making an otherwise small floor plan seem generous. top  View West - Modern Contemporary Architecture: 6-Main Floor Levels The open spaces on the main floor are defined by differences in floor levels. A partial basement (containing media room, bathroom and laundry) is located under the raised Living Room level. top  View West - Modern Contemporary Architecture: 7-Building Section The stairs progress from the family room in the basement, through the living spaces on the main, to the bedrooms on the upper floor and opens onto the private rooftop deck. top  View West - Modern Contemporary Architecture: 8-Main Floor Plan The main floor is entirely open, with the exception of the powder room, the floor levels define the change in spaces. A gas fireplace is mounted flush to the south wall in the dining room. top  View West - Modern Contemporary Architecture: 9-Upper Floor Plan All three bedroroms are on the upper floor. The master bedroom features built-in bed and storage units, and a gas fireplace flush in the south wall.
