 Side x Side New Age Design Concept: 1-Locked Up This new age design concept attempts to make more useful sense of the inherent structural and mechanical nature of shipping containers. In its "locked-up" state, this modern architectural design is protected from any external natural, animal or human forces. top  Side x Side New Age Design Concept: 2-Open The cabin is opened by sliding one container (on a rail and track system) forward exposing the sliding glass doors to the entry porch. The container doors at each end of the Cabin can also be opened. top  Side x Side New Age Design Concept: 3-Floor Plan The Cabin is composed of two 8'x20' containers. The stationary container houses the bedroom and all the plumbing and electrical elements (bathroom and kitchen), while the mobile container is able to accommodate flexible eating/sitting arrangements. top  Side x Side New Age Design Concept: 4-Deck Space A simple gazebo type roof provides shelter to the heart of the cabin and the operable portion of the sliding door and entry porch. top  Side x Side New Age Design Concept: 5-Locked Up When locked up, the containers appear to be an unimposing utility structure. By not attracting attention and incorporating a quick, secure locking system, the cabin innately deters vandals. top |
