This unique home architectural design is an early variant of the Zigloo Domestique Project.  A combination of prefabricated containers and traditional wood frame building systems.  Six 8’x20’ shipping containers stacked together to create the bulk of the house and one 8’x20’ container on stilts providing space for the home office.

The South Face of the building has glazing on the inside of the operable container doors.  This creates a glass wall on the sunny side of the property.

A large roof top deck provides private outdoor space.  Because most of this small site is occupied by the building's footprint, this space is an imoprtant element to the overall design concept.

The wood frame portion of the house is the north side.  A simple steel shed roof with board and batten finish harmonizes well with the corrugated container walls finish.  The connecting structure links the studio container (on stilts) to the second storey of the house.  The connecting structure also accommodates the stair run up to the rooftop deck.

The studio container is elevated 12’ above the ground.  This keeps the driveway area clear for vehicle passage.

The upper floor has the main bathroom, master bedroom suite and a second bedroom.  The door to the connecting platform provides passage to the studio and rooftop deck.

The main floor is an open plan that includes entrance, kitchen and living/dining rooms.  The south facing glass wall is evident on this floor and the upper floor plan (see above).
